AREA SALES DIRECTOR - WEST COAST

 

Summary:Responsible for selling products in a designated geographic territory.  Develop and execute sales plans based upon marketing strategy with the EVP Sales and Marketing.



Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

 

?  Attain/exceed sales objectives for a designated territory.

?  Work closely with, and provide leadership to the entire sales and marketing team regarding attainment of sales objectives and development of our customer relationships.

?  Develop (with EVP Sales and Marketing) and execute a sales strategy for a designated territory that incorporates all available resources for the attainment of unit and dollar objectives.  Prepare additional plans for upcoming new product launches.

?  Provide market research and strategic input to entire sales and marketing team for all current and new products: pricing, positioning, customer targeting, key feature requirements, and key marketing program requirements.

?  Matrix management of customer service manager and technical service managers.

?  Establish a good relationship with co-workers in all departments

?  Provide a general leadership role model for other members of the marketing group

?  Provide input for effective promotional campaigns and sales materials

?  Adhere to current applicable ISO processes and procedures

?  Abide by state and federal employment laws

 

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties:

?  Frequent travel required to customer sites, trade shows and home office

?  Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the software application environment currently in use in the market segment, demonstrating the ability to clearly understand and communicate software developments in the imaging field to customers and Company team members as they relate to the pediatric and neonatal institutional environment

?  Establish a good working relationship with other department heads to facilitate better communication between departments that interact with Sales

 



Experience, Education, Training, Skills, Traits:

?  College Degree, MBA preferred

?  High degree of integrity

?  Demonstrated sales and market development skills and success (i.e., top 1 or 2 in competitive selling environment)

?  Dynamic personality; high energy

?  Excellent communication skills, including ability to present effectively to physicians and in clinical environments

?  Ability to create stories from complex information

?  Understands (aptitude for) grasping new technology quickly

?  Demonstrated experience with launching new products

?  Customer-centric, team-oriented attitude and approach to sales

?  5 years of medical capital equipment sales experience, 2 from capital equipment in hospital (including experience selling to physicians)

?  Excellent interpersonal skills and strong personal presence

?  Self starter and well organized

?  Demonstrated negotiation skills/success

?  Ambitious and assertive in the context of having a major sales impact in the assigned territory, as well as playing a major role on the Clarity team

?  Experience in  the ophthalmology medical segment desired but not required

Lifting demonstration cases that can weigh 40 ? 60 pounds each
