The Company: SIMmersion LLC builds custom and off-the-shelf simulations of people for training difficult discussions.  Applications include termination of employment, performance reviews, sales, criminal investigations, and thousands of others.  We are a Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory spin-out business, founded in 2002. 

 

The Location: Columbia Maryland near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Route 32.

 

Business: SIMmersion LLC is a rapidly growing business that uses video to create realistic game-like training simulations of people you talk to for up to an hour.  Our simulated people have memory and an advanced emotional model so that they respond to the user?s statements unpredictably, but as a real person would.  No two simulated discussions are the same.  As part of the simulation development, we make movies. Our simulations are far more realistic than any others on the market.  A sales barrier to overcome is the limited expectations of potential clients who have only seen others attempt to fill this critical training gap.  Our website is at www.SIMmersion.com

 

The Working Environment: SIMmersion provides a positive working environment and a full benefit package through Administaff.  Our building has a shower room, and is near a lake and running trails.  Our offices have one or two occupants; we do not have cube working space.

The Position:  SIMmersion?s simulations have that ?wow? factor that helps sales.  People tell us that they never expected to see anything at this level.   More importantly, our simulations fill a recognized critical gap that no other training company can address.  The market potential is unlimited.  Simulations start at $400,000 and are always complex sales.  We are looking for business development hunters who can open new accounts, not someone to maintain existing accounts. 

 

The position requires an experienced sales person.  Knowledge of the training industry or DOD is highly desirable.The right contacts will be helpful.  The responsibilities will include:

 Developing new accountsDeveloping a knowledge of SIMmersion simulations so that their strengths and limitations can be accurately presented Finding prospects using existing contacts and building new ones Giving clear concise presentations to prospective clients Being able to close sales Supporting tradeshow effectively
