Account Executive - Industry Major Accounts - West

Position Overview

IDC?s Industry Majors accounts sales team is seeking an Account Executive who will be responsible for driving new sales opportunities within existing major accounts. This position will report to the Vice President, Industry Majors Sales.

Responsibilities

As a member of a collaborative team, the Account Executive will be responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of IDC products and services, as well as building strong relationships with individuals across IDC. The individual will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and broaden IDC?s reach within specific major accounts. The individual will follow up on proposal generation, respond to client requests for information and/or problems, and continue to enhance the client value proposition. Additionally, this person will be involved in identifying new products to develop and sell. The quota for this position will consist of new and consulting business within specific Industry Major accounts.

Skills and Experience

Requirements for the position include 2-6 years of sales experience, along with strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with storage and/or enterprise software industry is a strong plus. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Strong telephone cold calling experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be motivated, assertive, and collaborative, as well as highly organized and a quick-thinker. Prior market research industry sales experience is helpful, but not required. This position will be based out of San Mateo, CA.
