Business Development Manager, Performance Tubing

True Temper Sports, the world's leader in golf shafts and precision tubing products is searching for a Business Development Manager for our Performance Tubing products. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, this person will be responsible for growing and expanding our tubing products business in both composite and steel. Our tubing product lines currently include steel and composite bicycle components, industrial steel tubing, and other recreational and sports related tubing products.

 

At least a third of this person's time will be focused on developing and executing a business plan to fully utilize our manufacturing competencies and develop new products for new markets. The rest of the time will be spent with customers developing new business in our current markets. True Temper Sports does not sell products directly through retail channels, so our customers are OEM's and distributors. Travel should be in the 30-40% range.

 

The right person will be a dynamic and energetic sales and marketing talent who gets motivated by challenges and enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment. The candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in sales and/or marketing, preferably in a related industry such as sporting goods, tools and hardware, or other consumer hard goods. True Temper has an outstanding global brand, and the person who joins our team should also have some experience with brand and product management. Exposure to and/or participation in new product development is definitely a plus. Because of the cycling components we sell, we would like to find someone who has a passion for cycling and understands the importance of low weight, high quality performance bicycle components.
