Business Development Person

Advantica Inc. is a premier provider of advanced technology and systems solutions for high performance energy and utility companies worldwide.

 

Advantica offers a range of software and engineering and consulting services to the energy and utility markets.  We are now looking for the right individual to work closely with key stakeholders, to identify understand and manage new sales opportunities in our Gas Distribution sector.  Our key software and services offerings are targeted at the network planning and asset management needs of LDC?s in North America.  They include such offerings as SynerGEE Gas; Code Compliance; Mains Replacement Prioritization (MRP); and Uptime Pipeline Integrity.  In this role you would report directly to the North America Sales Director and work closely with the systems integration team to advance and grow Advantica?s presence in the market.  The selected candidate must relocate to the Central Pennsylvania area.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Sales Pipeline: Identify, develop and close major opportunities with customers in conjunction with the Sales Management, Delivery and Heads of Practices. Customer relationships: Build strong customer relationships and establish Advantica as a reputable provider of solutions to customers. Act as a conduit to feed market requirements into business plan and liaise as appropriate with Heads of Practices, Client Services, Delivery and Product DevelopmentPositioning: By developing a clear understanding of customers? current and emerging business needs, ensure that our key capabilities / offerings and market positioning are understood and valued by our existing and new customers.Marketing: Working with marketing, develop and implement a marketing plan which will raise the profile of Advantica within the geographic region and generate new sales opportunities.People: Work closely and collaboratively with Heads of Practices, Client Services, Delivery, Sales Management and other Business Development Managers to identify qualified opportunities and manage to closure. Lead, motivate and enthuse.Reporting: Update and produce effective internal reports on a regular basis.

 

 

Experience / Qualifications / Key Skills and Attributes

 5-10 years experience of direct selling into the energy and utilities industryExperience of software and consultative selling techniquesA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.Excellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrable credibility at senior level with customers / accounts and internal stakeholdersPersonal impact and strong presentation skills A proven track record of successful direct sales prospecting via telephone and personal contractTrack record of delivering and exceeding objectives / targetsTakes personal ownership of targetsRecognized empowerment / delegation skillsSelf Motivated Team player

 

DesiredExperience and understanding of network planning and asset management needs of North American gas distribution customers.Established contacts within the energy and utility industry by means of personal contacts, industry conference/committee participation, etc.
