Northwest Airlines, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for a Cargo Account Representative in our Sales division of the Cargo department in Detroit, Michigan.

 

Job Purpose

 

This position is responsible for developing and/or implementing customer driven sales and marketing strategies which achieve maximum sales revenue within the district.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

 

? Bachelor?s degree and three years of sales experience preferably within the Cargo or freight forwarding business. 
? Working knowledge of pc software/hardware applications and proven analytical skills

? Good communication skills, computer proficient and proven sales ability

? Ability to travel is required

Job Responsibilities

 

1. Sales Revenue
? Plan and develop territorial sales strategies


? Makes sales calls on assigned accounts focusing on NWA revenue/share improvement

? Identify specific sales opportunities by matching product with customer needs

 

? Gather strategic competitive market information

? Achieve sdpecific results identified and planned for

 
? Make professional sales presentations to top management groups

 

2. Customer Satisfaction
? Build relationships with key targeted accounts to enhance the sales

 

? Define/solve consumer problems/complaints using appropriate NWA internal resources

 

? Coordinate and conduct tradeshows, special events and familiarization trips 

 

? Maintain revenues of entire territory

 

? Represent NWA with a professional image and demeanor

 

? Maintain business relationship with ground operations and cargo services

 

3. Cargo Sales Administration
? Monitor and continuously improve revenue sales goals

? Remain within budget for assigned territory/accounts


? Complete administrative functions in a timely manner:  expense reports, house record cards, monthly activity reports
