Category Manager - Target

Purpose


Focus is on understanding in detail how the Category Management tools work tactically in support of manager's direction. Responsible for implementing Retail Selling Platform by Category in terms of tactics. Utilize all Category Management disciplines/tools to grow distribution, display, space and optimize pricing.

Accountabilities
By channel, determine fair share opportunities using Titan Tools for display, space and efficient assortment(distribution) for DPSU Brands. Employ the following Category Management tools in the appropriate situations to grow distribution, display and space while optimizing pricing: Beverage Builder, Templates, Spaceman, Spectra, Assortment Optimizer, Nielsen Panel Data, Nielsen POS Analysis Develop persuasive Bottler and Trade fact based selling solutions that maximize volume and share for targeted zone/account areas. For Bottling System where applicable, work with Field Sales with Merchandising Standards/SKU Rationalization. Sr. Management/special projects on ad-hoc basis (Items 1-4 to take 80 percent of time. Item 5 to take 20 percent of time.) Area of Responsibility: Category Manager will be responsible for Target, one of the top Strategic Accounts for CSAB. Close working relationship with National Account Executives, Bottler personnel, key internal functions (Brand Marketing, Customer Marketing, Knowledge Management, etc.), and of course key Target personnel to achieve CSAB and account volume and strategic objectives.



Pre-Requisites


Bachelor's Degree required Minimum 3 years sales/business analysis experience. (focus on areas of Category Management a plus.) Computer literacy a must needed (Powerpoint, Excel, Word) Travel within designated U.S. region (20-40%) Demonstrated analytical thinking. Proven organizational skills/strong teamwork ethic. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Creativity and adaptability.
