Channel Manager

DataPoint is a leading full-service Internet and managed services company, serving business customers in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas.  DataPoint provides dedicated Internet access and hosting, managed security services, collocation, and consulting services.  DataPoint is owned by Continental Broadband, a Landmark Communications? company which is a privately-held media and information company located in Norfolk, Virginia.  www.landmarkcommunications.com  www.datapointinc.com  We have a 10+ year history in the marketplace, and are embarking on a major growth phase in which we are launching a new data center facility and offering groundbreaking products like Dedicated Metro Ethernet.  The company has an immediate need for a Channel Manager.   

 

The Channel Manager will be responsible for generating new revenue streams through numerous approaches.  He or she will be expected to build and develop business relationships by attending networking events, participating in professional organizations & facilitating educational seminars about DataPoint?s products.  Additionally, the successful candidate will drive partner relationships to produce additional revenue.  We are seeking candidates with experience in channel management and telecommunications; people who are relationship builders with strong interpersonal skills.  This is a full-time, exempt position offering an excellent base pay plus incentives and benefits, including a 401(k) plan, health, dental and vision care plans, life insurance, paid time off and more.  The position will report to the Director of Sales and be located in Baltimore, MD.

 Primary Responsibilities:

? Drive new revenue

? Educate DataPoint?s legacy partners on new, and existing, products and services

? Contract with new partners in the areas of Baltimore, Bethesda and Rockville

? Expand the geographic footprint as appropriate (Washington, D.C., Northern VA.)

? Follow up with leads for potential partners

? Create marketing materials and product specs for distribution

 Skills and Knowledge Required:

? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

? 3-5 years experience selling with an emphasis on channel and reseller sales

? Experience presenting to groups and executives

? Relationship management skills

? Highly motivated team player

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills

? Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

? Ability to multi-task with clear priorities

? Drive and commitment needed to hit sales result expectations
