Fitness Counselors are responsible for selling, renewing, and maintaining memberships in our clubs. Fitness Counselors will call generated leads to set appointments, process guest check-ins, and process walk-in prospects using best practices as outlined in our Sales Procedure Manual.

What do you need to know and do to work with us?

You must have: The ability to work a rotating schedule as needed by Gold's Gym, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Basic knowledge of exercise physiology, physical training, and proper nutrition as they apply to the attainment of fitness goals. The ability to follow directions and adhere to best practices. The ability to pass a criminal background check. The ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language. Enough self-discipline to stay on task when unsupervised.

Bonus points are given to anyone who is bilingual (English/Spanish or who has demonstrated sales success.  We also love former athletes who love a competitive atmosphere that combines team play and personal achievement

What will you do while you are here?

You will:Create a friendly, professional, and positive first impression on our members, their guests, and the general public through a professional and friendly demeanor including telephone skills, dress, and personal grooming. Properly complete all paperwork concerning members, new members, guests, telephone inquiries, etc. Become completely familiar with all procedures, scripts, and sales material contained in our Sales Procedure Manual. Make outbound and follow-up calls on generated leads. Track all potential memberships through forms and paperwork. Help motivate people to make the changes necessary to drastically improve both the quantity and quality of their lives through fitness!

NOTE: The pay range indicated is $15,000 - $70,000.  That information is not entirely correct. No Fitness Counselor is allowed to earn only $15,000 per year.  But, if you were to take the minimum you could earn your first full month of sales times 12 months it would equal $15,500 annually.  However, Fitness Counselors are expected to improve with time, so our minimum expectations increase. 

The minimum a tenured Fitness Counselor will earn and be allowed to maintain employment is $21,000 annually.  If you are not earning more than $21,000 annually, you are not suited for this position and you will be terminated.  We want successful people and we will encourage people who are not successful to find their life?s passion in another role or with another employer.
