Commercial Sales Consultant

Summary of Responsibilities;

This position takes inbound calls generated by our field sales force. There is no prospecting or cold calling required.

 

The Commercial Sales Consultant is responsible for frontline underwriting, quoting and placement of commercial property and casualty insurance products for businesses surfaced by our field sales force.

 

Successful candidates will work with our field sales agents to underwrite new business accounts, assure complete applications, secure additional underwriting information as required and submit applications electronically through proprietary systems.

 

Principal Responsibilities;

The ability to provide potential customers with quotes and demonstrate good negotiating skills is vitally important. This position also requires the ability to follow-up on quotes and complete applications in a timely manner.

 

Demonstrating strong verbal and listening communication skills in decision making and at point of contact is critical. Also important is the ability to research, comprehend and identify options and solutions to meet customer business insurance needs and company goals.

 

Required Competencies;

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment to effectively produce results and achieve departmental goals.

 

Demonstrated ability to use a PC and computer based resources is critical. Clear demonstration of a positive attitude and flexibility in a changing environment cannot be overstated.

 

Property & Casualty license is required as is agency or company commercial lines experience.
