Description:JOB SUMMARY We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Loan Underwriter for our Bothell, Washington Internet location. In this position, you will make sound underwriting decisions following World?s portfolio and/or secondary market guidelines. Examines and evaluates applicants for real estate loans by analyzing financial status, credit history and appraisals. Corresponds with loan origination staff to resolve questions regarding applications and explain decisions. RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property and loan conditions meet company and regulatory standards. Contacts loan origination personnel regarding status, special problems or conditions required on the loan, or to obtain additional information. Approves or rejects loan and/ or discusses problems with supervisor. Records loan rejections, identifying applicant, company guidelines and the basis for rejecting the applicant. Assembles all documents in the loan file and passes the file on to the appropriate department for processing and filing. Performs the above functions according to specified goals and objectives that pertain to loan production, turnaround time and loan quality REQUIREMENTS Excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of Underwriting principle and concepts. Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in the residential loan business, loan processing or related business is desired. Strong knowledge of Filenet, LOIS, Query and Windows applications.
