Cutting Tool Sales Engineer ? Great Career Opportunity



Turner Supply Company, a full-line industrial distributor, seeks an experienced, technically knowledgeable cutting tool sales engineer for the north Alabama market. This specialist will work with key metalworking accounts throughout the north Alabama territory and also have some opportunity to support key accounts and sales personnel from as far south as Montgomery, AL and north to Nashville, TN. This job will require day-trips and travel throughout the territory, but will not require more than a few nights away from home per month. In addition to having direct account responsibility for major machining customers, this sales engineer will also support Turner's field sales staff in other smaller accounts where any amount of cutting tools are being used.

 



Because of the nature of this position, the ideal candidate will have a unique mixture of technical expertise, an outgoing personality conducive to sales, and must be a team player with a "can-do" attitude that works well with others on his/her team. We are in pursuit of candidates who are career-oriented and looking for long-term employment.



Job duties and requirements include:

? Vocational degree or equivalent work experience

? 5+ years experience in a production manufacturing environment with an emphasis on metalworking and machining.

? 2+ years of sales experience calling on industrial accounts

? Thorough knowledge of carbide and high speed steel:

o taps, drills, end mills, inserts, reamers, and related tooling

? General knowledge and willingness to learn about coolants and lubricants

? Willingness to provide technical support and expertise to other members of the sales team throughout north Alabama



This position will report to our regional sales manager and also have the opportunity to work with the branch managers from 5 stocking warehouse locations in the territory. Turner is in a unique position in the market with the most competitive cutting tool lines and pricing in the industry. This sales engineer will have the opportunity to influence future marketing and promotions decisions for the company and work with our customers, sales reps., and management to identify the best strategies for growing our business. Turner?s overall business is up significantly in 2006 and we are looking to reinvest in new talent to continue our growth trend for many years to come. Previous cutting tool specialists in our company have been promoted to positions of greater authority. We are always developing our work force to its fullest potential.



Because of the unique nature of the Alabama market, Turner Supply is not looking to recruit someone living anywhere outside of the Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville or Nashville areas. Huntsville or Birmingham will be the ideal place for this person to be located. Turner Supply will NOT pay any relocation costs for this position.
