DEALER SALES REP

Job DescriptionThe territory for this position will encompass the metropolitan area.  This full time position with benefits requires an individual that is responsible for increasing the volume of dealer sales by developing new business and retaining existing customers.  This candidate must be highly motivated, energetic, a self-starter, and goal oriented who will implement growth initiatives in an auction environment, through hard work, and time spent visiting customers as well as producing thought out ideas and initiatives.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities? Assist manager in developing and implementing new sales programs and revising existing programs to enhance customer participation.
? Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
? Travel throughout assigned territory to call on and visit regular and prospective customers in an effort to develop new and retain existing business for the auction.
? Maintain customer contact on sale days or by phone.  Attend trade shows.
? Display or demonstrate Auction sales and services, using brochures or other materials, and emphasize salable features.
? Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer problems and to maintain a high degree of customer service.
? Assist manager in preparation of material for promotions and advertising.  Prepare reports of business transactions and sales activity.  Maintain expense account.
? Work with inside sales reps to keep account activities and literature up-to-date.
? Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
? Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
? May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate. QualificationsEducation:  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:  2 to 4 years of sales experience required or advanced professional sale management education.  Knowledge of the automobile/ auction industry a plus.
