DIRECTORY ADVERTISING SALES REP (RR) Tampa/Clearwater-St. Petersburg

JOB DUTIES
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

1. Represents Telephone Company in connection with local business customer advertising in the Yellow Pages Directories.

2. Contacts designated businesses (advertisers and non-advertisers) for the purpose of selling Yellow Pages advertising.

3. Responsible for meeting aggressive sales quotas and objectives.

4. Visits these businesses to obtain pertinent information about the business itself, potential markets, problems faced in doing business, current advertising and results from it. Discusses role of Yellow Pages advertising in attracting new customers and retaining existing clientele.

5. Prepares sample layouts and value proving background information, as basis for recommending advertising programs customized to meet the needs of each business.

6. Prepares forms, letters, handles a volume of detailed paper work and executes contracts for billing. Prepares necessary paperwork for publishing and billing the advertising.

7. Work requires high degree of accuracy.

8. Works with reference material including sales practices and tariff regulations.

Satisfactory performance and attendance in present job.

Specifics for the Job:
a. Though generally day hours, Monday through Friday, the nature of business requires that they be contacted after normal business hours (evenings) or on Saturdays.

b. Personal auto used for business.

c. Liability and property damage insurance policy required.

d. Valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required.

e. Must be able to travel for extended periods.

f. Satisfactory completion of background investigation is required.

ADDITIONAL FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED
1. Outstanding performance rating in present job and selling experience.
2. Computer experience; knowledge of Company systems, e.g., ACCESS.
3. Ability to speak languages other than English.

4.  College Degree a plus

 

Requirements include: At least 1 year of sales experience; strong communication & negotiation skills; Internet proficiency; willing and able to travel over night and extended stay.

TRAINING
Satisfactory completion of on-the-job and/or classroom training as required.
