DIRECTORY ADVERTISING SALES REPRESENTATIVE -- EXPANSION MARKET (Tallahassee)

BellSouth Corporation is a Fortune 100 communications services company headquartered in Atlanta, GA, serving more than 44 million customers in the United States and 16 other countries.

Represents Telephone Company in connection with local business customer advertising in the Yellow Pages Directories.

2. Contacts businesses for the purpose of selling Yellow Pages advertising in markets that have not traditionally been Company directory areas. Will be competing with incumbent local carrier's product and involved with establishing new customer/revenue base.

3. Responsible for meeting aggressive sales quotas and objectives in markets that have not traditionally been Company directory areas. May be used on special assignments as required.

4. Visits these businesses to obtain pertinent information about the business itself, potential markets, problems faced in doing business, current advertising and results from it. Discusses role of Yellow Pages advertising in attracting new customers and retaining existing clientele.

5. Prepares sample layouts and value proving background information, as basis for recommending advertising programs customized to meet the needs of each business.

6. Prepares forms, letters, handles a volume of detailed paper work and executes contracts for billing. Prepares necessary paperwork for publishing and billing the advertising.

7. Work requires high degree of accuracy.

8. Works with reference material including sales practices and tariff regulations.

Specifics for the Job

a. Though generally day hours, Monday through Friday, the nature of business requires that they be contacted after normal business hours (evenings) or on Saturdays.

b. Personal auto used for business.

c. Liability and property damage insurance policy required.

d. Valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required.

e. Must be able to travel for extended periods.

f. Satisfactory completion of background investigation is required.
