The Demand Planner is the driver behind the development of the Demand Forecast, including management of the consensus process used to develop these forecasts. This position owns responsibility for ensuring that high quality forecasts are developed, by leveraging the best available cross-functional inputs and applying judgment based on knowledge of the business and robust cross-functional discussions. The Demand Planner directly manages the working sessions and the consensus process, owns analyzing and improving forecast accuracy, and executes process improvements as appropriate. Responsibilities include: Foster cross-functional discussion to improve the quality and effective interpretation of inputs for developing the Demand Forecast. Leverage systems and reporting tools to generate more accurate and actionable forecasts. Direct Working Sessions ensuring strong participation from the Marketing and Sales departments, as well as other functions when appropriate. Manage the Sales & Operations Process to ensure that the appropriate issues have been resolved and consensus around the forecast achieved. Improve forecast accuracy by effectively analyzing sources of forecast error and recommending appropriate action plans. Develop and publish key reports and forecast accuracy metrics. Analyze prior forecasts to identify potential sources of forecast error, and develop action plans to improve accuracy. Work with the Marketing, Sales, Product Supply, and Finance to fully understand proposed fiscal year plans and implications.
Require BS/BA. Must be well organized, analytical and detail oriented.. Ability to effectively prioritize work and identify variables driving business results. Strong cross-functional team leadership skills, including ability to identify and resolve issues and opportunities. Ability to demonstrate thought leadership by independently developing and advocating a point of view. Knowledge of software programs such as Word and Excel. Supply Chain knowledge. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. SAP experience a plus.
