Direct Mail Magazine Manager

Pittsburgh, PA location.

 

We are Verizon Information Services, a powerful leader in the expanding world of directory publishing and information services.  Verizon Yellow Pages and SuperPages.com are the primary advertising mediums for small to mid-size business and we are now introducing our new product, Solutions Direct.

 

Verizon is looking for a self-starter with proven success in high ad content magazine advertising sales.  If you have a strong and successful sales record, know the heavy ad content magazine business and how to position products, then this is the opportunity that you have been looking for!

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

q Building and developing a new product line with direct mail magazines targeted to vertical industries such as home improvement, medical, personal services, etc.

 

q Targeting and developing accounts to achieve supplemental advertising revenue

 

q Monitoring schedules including copy deadlines, production timelines and delivery drops

 

q Participating on implementation teams

 

q Leading and managing a team of 8 Direct Solution Telephone Sales Representatives in the sale of Direct Mail/Print Products

 

q Meeting and exceeding revenue and strategic product growth goals

 

q Meeting all publishing deadlines and ensuring quality of work

 

q Developing, coaching and training sales representatives

 

q Additional responsibilities include assignment preparation, recruiting, call observations, outside sales calls to business customers, and sales forecasting

 

Position Requirements:

 

q Effective written and verbal skills

q Excellent understanding of all functions within a magazine environment including sales, production, editorial and experience as an effective coordinator with cross-functional teams

q Prior experience with Direct Mail Cards/Packs and magazines that use heavy ad content as a business model (low editorial mix)

q A minimum of 2-3 years direct sales experience in addition to sales management experience  within this industry

q Proven results track record

q Experience leading a team

q Dedication to quality and customer service is essential.

q Outstanding demonstration of territory control & meeting deadlines

q Effective time management and organizational skills

q Effective computer and PC skills

 

 

We offer a very competitive base salary  ($50-$70K commensurate with experience) and total package at 100% of plan is $80K-$100K plus!
