Director of Catering Sales - Meadowlark Golf Club

American Golf (www.americangolf.com) is the largest operator of golf facilities in the world and manages more than 175 premier private, resort and daily fee courses.  The company is privately held and employs more than 10,000 co-workers nationwide.  The company is expanding their sales team and we have various openings in catering sales, membership sales, and group/tournament sales.  We are looking for results-orientated, driven sales professionals that are confident in their sales ability to work on a commission driven/uncapped compensation plan.  We are currently recruiting for the following opportunity:

 

Director of Catering - Catering SalesLocation: Meadowlark Golf Club ? Huntington Beach, CA (www.meadowlarkgc.com)Reports to the General Manager Compensation:  60k at plan (50/50 split between base & commission ? 30k base/30k commission at plan; uncapped commission plan); Can reasonably be at 70k+ if you're a top performer and excel in sales Benefits:  In addition to health, dental and life insurance, benefits including a flexible spending account, free golf, and discounts on merchandise and food & beverage

 

Job Responsibilities:Responsible for meeting/exceeding the annual budgeted revenue goals/booking goals for the Catering Department  with a concentrated effort on developing markets to generate new business Maximize catering revenue to include banquet food & beverages and facility rental This position requires outbound solicitation calls, direct mail, networking, bridal and trade show participation, local advertising and continuous knowledge of direct competition. Responsibilities also include contract negotiation; event planning and event follow- through. Outbound sales activities to drive awareness including prospecting and generating leads, cold calling, tracking leads, sales presentations, and closing deals Networking with members, guests, and the community to maximize leads and referrals Manage event administrative requirements and logistics and work with F&B lead to coordinate details

 

Qualifications:2 years plus of related experience in catering and sales preferably in golf/hospitality/hotel/service industry Strong sales skills required (open to sales coordinator/assistants with a strong potential for sales) Knowledge of golf preferred, but not required  Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM sales software (ACT, Sage, Goldmine, Salesforce.com, etc.) Solid time management, organization and prioritizing skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired Valid driver?s license required Must be flexible with your hours as guests/potential members may need to come in to meet and tour the facility on Saturday's which sometimes requires working a Tuesday - Saturday shift
