Boston Kitchen Distributors, Inc., the largest independent supplier of Kitchens and Bathrooms in New England, has been supplying cabinetry, countertops and design services to end-users, contractors and the design trade for over 16 years. In addition to its headquarters and newly-opened Showroom in Wilmington, MA, Boston Kitchen currently has other outstanding Showrooms in Wakefield, Needham, Middleton and Kingston MA, with 5 new showrooms planned in the near future, as the company continues to exhibit phenomenal growth.





Our ideal DIRECTOR OF SALES will have experience in a similar position, driving the sales function, with a history of successes to show for it. We will be looking for as many of the following experience or characteristic points as possible in our potential candidates: 

* Great sales personality and the ability to motivate those around them

* Experience in the Retail Industry involving companies with multiple locations would be a big plus

* Need to have great "closing skills", and more importantly, the ability to impart these to others

* In charge of training in all areas deemed necessary for the betterment of the Salesforce

* Significant input into the hiring of new salespeople

* Total responsibility for the operations of all Sales Showrooms 

* Will have to had success at companies with sales of at least $20M

* A past history of some lengthy stays (over 3 years) at previous companies would be a plus

* Within a 40 minute commute of our Wilmington Headquarters

* Excellent computer skills. 







The following is a description of many of the major tasks we envision as being necessary to take us to the next level:

 Must be hands-on with the ability to train a sales force, especially in the area of closing salesAssemble the operating budget for the sales departmentManage all budgets for each showroom as a profit centerWith the Showroom Managers, manage the flow of customer orders and timely deliveriesPrepare all weekly sales reports as requestedEvaluate all direct reporting personnel and hire as neededDevelop competitive compensation plans and approve pay levels / bonuses, etc. Handle any dispute regarding a sale or quality control (customer service)Set or improve, and then enforce the retail sales policy and procedures for BKD, Inc.Develop processes for improvements in the sales department and document them for the company?s manual of operationsDevelop, direct and maintain personnel in each showroom in order to maximize effectivenessDevelop, direct, and manage all Sales Managers to be successful in their daily job responsibilitiesDevelop and update a departmental business plan that encompasses both a strategic (3-5 yrs) and a tactical (1 yr) proposed plan of actionEnsure that all direct reporting positions are provided with written functional job descriptions of their responsibilities, duties, and authorityEnsure that company policies are transmitted to every direct reporting employee, and are administered fairly and consistentlyProvide leadership and motivation to all employees to achieve goals and objectivesReview/revise all showroom budget variance reports working within guidelines from the ControllerManage all needed sales tracking reports for cost centers (showrooms)Participate and facilitate Sales Productivity Training (SPM)See that Strategic Sales goals for each Sales Manager/Showroom are met

 

Showroom Sales Managers at our various locations will be the direct reports. This position reports directly to the President of the company.
