Position Overview:
The District Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting and developing sales relationships with potential clients and closing new and expanded sales agreements. The District Sales Managers at Paylocity work in a small business environment that is very competitive and quota-driven. The company targets small to medium-sized businesses in the Midwest market. The best District Sales Managers are hunters; they are capable of creating their own activity in the field and are constantly looking for that next sale. A strong predictor of success for a District Sales Manager is someone who incorporates a consultative approach to their sales technique, has exceptional good prospective skills, ability to be persistent but not pushy and has a passion for what is being sold!


Performance Objectives:
An eight week training period will commence immediately upon starting at Paylocity. The training program includes a combination of sales field training under our sales team and Paylocity payroll knowledge training with our sales trainer. Upon completion you should be confident in your knowledge about our payroll products and services offered.Determine prospective customers? needs for payroll, Human Resources, unemployment and other services and, using persuasion and negotiation, present Paylocity services that meet those needs.Prepare and present proposals and provide appropriate follow-up throughout the sales process. Close the sales process.Complete and obtain documentation required for the conversion of data from their previous payroll provider to the Paylocity system. Work directly with internal departments to insure the client has a smooth transition to their new payroll provider. Maintain contact with existing customers to determine needs for additional services.Using initiative, develop prospects through cold calling, referrals, professional and personal contacts and other sources.Attend trade shows, conferences and other events to promote Paylocity services.Ability to meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales quota for your territory.Other duties as assigned.



Experience and Skills:
2-5 years experience in a quota-driven sales positionProven ability with sales prospecting and closingAbility to succeed in a competitive environmentAbility to persuade and negotiate potential clients of the benefits of using our servicesCritical thinking and decision-making skills required in order to handle objections and unexpected situations that might arise throughout the sales cycleCustomer service orientation the client ALWAYS comes first!Strong presentation skills to effectively represent Paylocity and allow the client to visualize the benefits of using our servicesWritten and oral communication skillsListening skills to probe further into the clients needs and expectationsOrganizational skillsTime management skillsProficiency with MS Office applications and the Internet; experience with sales automation software desirableExperience in a service industry desirable, especially in the Payroll industryCollege degree desirable
