Eastern Enterprise Sales Engineer Manager

General Purpose of this Position 

To provide overall leadership and management to the objectives, strategies, and measurements of the Eastern sales engineering group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

? Formulate objectives and strategies for the overall functioning of the Eastern sales engineering group;

? Select and train the Eastern sales engineers, performing all managerial human resources management functions on a timely basis;

? Ensure that all members of the Eastern sales engineering team stay current on all TAA products, as well as on major developments in the videoconferencing industry as a whole;

? Personally provide technical pre-sales leadership on major accounts;

? Coordinate and communicate work assignments to each group member;

Coordinate, assist and plan in corporate communication and marketing activities.

Knowledge 

? TAA culture, organization, values;

? Expert level knowledge of all TAA technologies and a working knowledge of the technologies of competitors and the videoconferencing industry as a whole;

? Concepts and principles of:

o  Engineering

o  Customer service;

o  Staff Managerial

? Detailed understanding of circuit switched technology (ISDN, T1), IP networking, Microsoft networking and Microsoft IIS.

? Detailed understanding of VOIP (Voice Over I/P).

Skills and Abilities

Incumbent must have/be able to:

? Provide technical guidance to Eastern Sales engineering team, as well as to partners & potential customers;

? Stay abreast of all relevant current and emerging technologies;

? Effectively manage employees in remote locations;

? Excellent oral and written communication skills;

? Excellent client interaction skills.

Computer Ability

Microsoft Office.  Expert level technical abilities in all TAA?s technical offerings, as described above in ?Knowledge.?.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering or telecommunications engineering.  MBA or Master?s degree in one of the above fields helpful. 

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in telecommunications, three of which must be in videoconferencing and digital video. Management experience required. CCNA, MCSE or equivalent Experience desired.

Time required for full competency 

One year

Working conditions 

Normal office environment.  Travel of approximately 60%. Customer Facing 80% of Role.
