Eastern Regional Sales Manager

  POSITION SUMMARY     A highly dynamic blue chip Company and global leader in the production of recreation equipment and accessories is seeking an Eastern Regional Sales Manager to support the strategic sales initiatives for the organization.

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

?  Implements the organization?s strategic sales plan for region to accommodate corporate goals.

 

?  Directs regional sales forecasting activities and sets Agents/Distributor performance goals accordingly.

 

?  Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control the sales program in their region.

 

?  Directs channel development activities and coordinates sales distribution by establishing territories, quotas and goals.

 

?  Advises Agents/Distributors concerning sales and advertising techniques.

 

?  Supports trade shows and conventions to assist in promoting product.

 

?  Assists with delivering sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Agents/Distributors.

 

?  Meets with key regional corporate clients, assisting Agents/Distributors with establishing and maintaining relationships and closing deals.

 

?  Acts as a liaison between regional Agents/Distributors and other internal departments.

 

?  Prepares accurate sales forecasts and reports as requested.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

 
The successful candidate will be a highly competitive sales management professional with experience selling to construction, government/municipalities within a market/sales driven organization.  Requires strategic thinker, understanding of financials and hard charging change agent.

 
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience leading a sales team through integration initiatives, territory management, performance management and formalized business planning models.  Must have direct sales experience, have built a rep team and exposure to Greenfield projects.  Resourcefulness is a requirement.

 
Success with co-development of sales plan with representatives to optimize sales growth within the territory.  Experience working with direct sales employees is preferred, independent agents and distributors are a must.

 

?  A history of strong sales achievement within a contract bid process.

 

?  An ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and individuals on a cross-functional basis.  Previous recognition for being a high energy, self starter with a polished sales approach appropriate for a municipality budget office as well as a construction organization.

 

?  Strong customer/consumer orientation.  Background or experience working in play-related industries is a strong plus.

 

?  Proven hands-on performer ? willing and capable of leading and managing an organization in an entrepreneurial setting: propensity to ?roll-up your sleeves to get the job done?.

 

?  Excellent communication skills ? written, verbal and presentation.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

?  Education/Experience ? BS Degree, business preferred or technical/design degree

?  Ten or more years of experience in progressively responsible sales positions.  Titles to include:  sales representative or sales executive, district manager, regional manager

 

COMPENSATION:

 

Compensation will be competitive and based on the candidate?s background and experience. 

 
Base salary - $80 ? 120K plus  25% target bonus
