Gentris? Clinical Genetics division provides pharmacogenomic laboratory services which enable our client?s to bring their drugs to market faster and more efficiently. Clinical Genetics Services support Phase I-III clinical trials, expert PGx strategy design and implementation, consultation and custom assay development and validation. We are currently seeking a regionally based Director of Business Development for California and also for the Northeast to develop and maintain assigned territory.  The Director of Business Development is independently responsible for corporate sales activities in the West Coast to include performing sales and strategic planning functions related to identifying new business opportunities and general business development.

Responsibilities: 

Position responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

?  Identify potential sales targets, define leads and achieve bid opportunities.

?  Generate proposals based on new and existing client base to meet each client's specific clinical protocol objectives under realistic financial, staffing, experience and timing constraints.

?  Drive the sales cycle to successfully negotiate and close outstanding bids. Achieve >50% closure rate.

?  Cultivate client relationships, focusing on the senior level across key large pharmaceutical and CRO accounts. Play the leading role in strategic planning for penetration and forecasting of important prospects and client accounts.

?  Assist the Business Development and Marketing management teams in development of market positioning and key messaging.  Identify market trends and potential new service opportunities and provide competitive feedback.

?  Work with management to direct and coordinate prospective sponsor visits to company headquarters, including the execution of an appropriate confidentiality agreement, pre-visit strategy meetings, agenda, and follow-up

?  Responsible for maintaining client information and business development activities in appropriate tracking systems and reports.  Support BD management in timely and accurate reporting of BD activities.

?  Responsible for establishing and maintaining industry, government and client contacts for continuing good relations and business opportunity development

?  Represent Gentris at trades shows and forums.

Qualifications:Proven track record of individual sales success.  Minimum of 5 years of related sales experience in the CRO or pharmaceutical industry.  Travel in excess of 50% as necessary to achieve bid and sales goals.Aptitude to communicate competently with scientific and business executives in the drug development industry. Ability to apply working knowledge of molecular biology, clinical trial process, strategic planning, and forecasting to account management.
