Assignment Capsule
You will: Achieve sales goals for medical/dental/life product sales. Stay abreast of competitive landscape and share with the sales team. Identify key opportunities that currently do not exist that will leverage our structure and increase sales and profitability.
Work closely with the sales manager and other sales reps to drive sales and achieve set goals.
The Sales Rep works closely with assigned brokers and agencies to create and maintain positive business relationships.
Set appointments and conduct meetings with an average of 20 agencies or brokers per week.
Conduct weekly training meetings at market office.
Contribute to the profitable growth of our Individual product portfolio by recruiting, training, motivating and developing new brokers and agencies.
Leverage our underwriting tools so agents bring us the best business. Ensure all processes and procedures are articulated to agents and brokers.
Responsible for holding brokers/agencies accountable to committed production.
Communicate the organizations strategy, goals and expectations to brokers/agencies.
Promote the sale of our products through existing and new distribution sources.
Provide management with weekly and monthly reports on the market, brokers, and competition from other carriers.
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, involving various divisions and levels within the company.
Proficient in time and organization management skills.
Ability to handle extensive day to day travel to meet with agents in assigned territory.
Some overnight travel may be required.
Key Competencies
Sales and Account Management - Understands how to identify and leverage business development opportunities and guide them toward innovative approaches. Solidly apply knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry including products, competition, underwriting, strategy, process and operations.
Communication - Must be able to effectively communicate and present to all size audiences. Must be comfortable delivering all forms of communication (written and verbal) and able to articulate to all levels. Understands the audience and tailors delivery accordingly.
Implementation/Execution - Effectively leverages available resources (financial, people, time) to accomplish objectives and maximize return on investment. Make appropriate decisions in the face of ambiguity. Anticipate and resolve barriers and constraints. Organize and manage multiple priorities and/or projects using appropriate methods and tools. Must analyze strategy, systems, technology, staffing; then recommend, implement, and execute solutions.
Acts Strategically - Develop and implement clear, concise strategy and associated goals. Translate strategy into action. Foster a consistent understanding of the strategy; translate it into defined tactical plans. "Stays the course" to implement. Anticipate and identify where change is needed and make the change happen.

College degree or equivalent experience preferred
