IDI Sales Representative

Summary of Responsibilities The sales rep is responsible for marketing the Individual Disability product to brokers and producers in the Small to Large Market, representing employers with 2 to 25,000 employees.Principal Responsibilities - Develop plan to meet annual sales objectives, maintain accountability for personal results

- Work with internal partners to ensure sold and existing business receive outstanding service

- Cultivate and build solid, mutually productive relationships with key brokers and consultants and other strategic partners

- Partner with small and large market sales reps to create new business opportunities

- Maintain thorough understanding of new products developed by both MetLife and external market.

- Remain current on all product design, delivery system and legislative changes affecting Institutional policies.Required Competencies - Minimum 3 years sales experience in the insurance industry

- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally

- Demonstrated ability to weigh risk and make effective business decisions

- Must be able to influence others, negotiate and present expertly, must be effective at closing sales.

- Idea candidate has technical insurance background with emphasis in Institutional products, services and employee benefit plans.

- Solid knowledge of underwriting policies, dividend and expense formulas, statistical analysis and reporting systems.

- Must hold or obtain a life & health license.

- Excellent Communication skills, good listener with strong customer insight

- Bachelors degree required
