Industrial Sales Representative

A nationwide company with 10 branches throughout the United States is looking for an industrial salesperson in the following locations: Dallas, TX and Ft. Smith, AR.  A college degree is preferred and 2 or more years of industrial sales experience a plus.  In-house training provided.  You will manage existing relationships and grow market share.  Earnings based on performance ? base salary plus commission.  Valid driver's license required.  Position requires 25-30% travel time.  Employee Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, 401(k) plan with 3% employer contribution (no employee contribution necessary), Car Allowance, Tuition Reimbursement, Vacations, and Holidays.

JOB PROFILE FOR THIS POSITION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following plus other duties may be assigned.Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. Prepares surveys of customer's equipment and product needs. Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company's production and delivery schedules. Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Works with inside sales representatives and other support staff to keep account activities and literature up to date. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

TRAINING  

Based on previous experience of the individual, in-house training of 9 ? 18 months in production shop and inside sales provided.  Shop training:  The duration of this program can be from six to twelve months in length, depending on the skill level of the individual.  This will include, but not be limited to:  fabrication, shipping/receiving, surveys and installations. Inside Sales Training:  The duration of this program can be from three to six months.  This will include, but not be limited to:  customer communication, vendor contacts, order entry, marketing and overall office paperwork procedures.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
