Currently, we are looking for a Industry Director for the Academic Industry. The qualified candidate should be open to travel and be based in the Pacific Northwest.



Responsible for Relationship Management at customers with $1 Million or greater potential where Fisher has not had a strong relationship or customers that are identified as ?pop up? RFP opportunities, responsible for all development activities including initiation of RFP, response, account management planning leading, and early stages of implementation. Program Management, Strategy Execution, and Resource Coordination. Oversees 15-18 primarily biotech industry specific customers. Incremental revenue goals to exceed $4-6MM in year one.



Essential functions include:

Maintains senior level customer relationships across multiple customer functional areas such as Sourcing, Production, Research, Facilities, and Materials Management etc.
Coordinates needs assessments across locations
Capable of delivering a comprehensive Fisher value proposition which includes all of the Fisher research capabilities as well as familiarity with Fisher Scientific International
Understands and can articulate value to the customer in terms of cost optimization, transaction management and asset management
Understand the business drivers for industry in general and biotech specifically
Knows how to apply solutions based on evolving industry trends and market growth dynamics
Drives RFP process (Proformas, Proposals, Cross-organization coordination)
Works with finance to Identify target profitability, terms and conditions and creates implementation plan for developmental customers
Is expected to participate and drive in ?pop up? RFP responses with minimal notice
Performs other duties as assigned


Required Skills:

Bachelors degree (in a Science preferred)
MBA preferred
10+ years of relevant, industry-specific work experience
Successful sales management experience dealing with customer senior management, preferably in the biotech or pharma industry
Superb leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and financial project management skills
Knowledge of all facets of the Distribution business model to include value added services and their application to the biotech industry
Knowledge of the trends, financial and profit drivers for the biotech industry
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint a must, Contact management software a plus
Significant analysis and communication skills required
