Inside Sales / Application Engineer for high growth company

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:  INSIDE SALES / APPLICATION ENGINEER 

SUMMARY STATEMENT

This position is responsible for the application support and inside sales support function for all FlatPlate products.  Communication with customers, sales representatives, and all positions within the organization is required. Daily tasks include customer application assistance, representative support, quotations and technical support, price administration, and order editing.

 

REPORTS TO:  Manager New Product Applications      

 

SUPERVISES:  None

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Provide Customer and Sales support functions including:

- Issuing of price and delivery quotations

- Providing technical assistance, including use of FlatPlate?s computerized selection program.

- Developing of product requirement specifications for development of Customer Approval Drawings.

- Tracking of Customer Approval Drawings to ensure timely receipt.

2.  Maintain all customer information and files.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Associates Degree, preferably in engineering, or equivalent work experience in a technical discipline is preferred.

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS

1.  Demonstrated ability to speak directly with customers.

2.  Technical familiarity with refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heating systems, and components.

3.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.

4.  Written communication skills, both sales and technical related.

5.  Working familiarity with a drawing software package.

 

PRIOR EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE

1.  One to five years experience as Application Engineer, Field Service Technician, or Inside Sales Engineer.

2.  Experience and working knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and some knowledge of hydronic and industrial process systems.
