Interior Designer / Decorator

Job Purpose:

Produces designs by understanding function of the design and design characteristics; planning design concept; developing, illustrating, and revising design.  Visiting customer homes, creating spatial planning and drawing sketches in order to maximize space and increase sales.



Duties:

* Plans design assignment by studying client's request; understanding function of the design; preparing sketches and finding furniture to fit design.


* Develops design by using manufacturers that the store carries, upsells using plants and artwork.


* Illustrates design by preparing sketches by hand or by computer.


* Obtains approval of design by presenting and explaining sketches.


* Works with salesperson to finish designs, sell the customer on all products and order furniture.
