BURKE DISTRIBUTING CORP ? Entry-Level Sales Representative/Merchandiser

 

Burke Distributing Corporation is a family owned company that has been distributing beer and malt beverages since 1935.  We proudly distribute major brands such as:  Coors, Miller, Boston Beer, Beck, Bass Ale, and many more.

 

We are currently seeking an entry-level merchandiser for an immediate position in the Boston area.  As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the presence of our brand portfolio in an established territory of high-volume retail stores. 

 

You will learn skills in territory management, selling, merchandising, and servicing. This is the first of many assignments designed to prepare and develop future members of our sales and marketing management team. 

 

Duties include:

 Maximizing brand visibility by merchandising accounts to meet requirementsRotating stock to ensure to both company and supplier quality assurance standardsProvide superior customer service, including follow-up on commitments, etc.Conduct ?hot shot? deliveries as neededTroubleshoot draft accounts be identifying and correction minor problems as they relate to draft beerAssist cold box manager in conducting resets Representing Burke Distributing Corporation at promotional nights as assigned by managersPrepare reports and daily logs

 

Qualified candidates will have an appropriate Bachelor?s degree in business, marketing or liberal arts (or equivalent).  Successful candidates will be mature, aggressive, results-oriented, self-starters who possess a strong sales personality and leadership skills. 

 

This job does involve some lifting (a case of beer weighs 45 pounds) as merchandisers build beer displays and make some deliveries.  In addition, an excellent driving record is required as you be driving a company van on a daily basis.
