Responsible for all category management activity within specified divisions/product lines. Provides category management process and technology training to key sales personnel. Joins Key Account Managers in penetrating key decision makers and presenting category management plans at key retail customers. Manages analysts to provide support to key sales personnel and targeted retail customers. Possesses solid knowledge of computers, syndicated data, space management, graphics, spreadsheets, databases and category management tools. 7+ years of experience.Coordinate between business management and field sales to plan optimal quarterly trade activity to meet plan goals.
Monitor competitive and market conditions, providing this input into the planning process.
Coordinate new product introductions to provide for proper programming, and field sales execution at or above plan levels.
Provide leadership through knowledge and expertise, and provide sales training in these areas.
Provide for and monitor administration of trade funds to insure financial integrity and spending efficiency.
Analyze industry trends and competitive actions to develop alternative strategies to maintain and improve competitive position with Key customers.
To develop self and othersA minimum BA/BS degree and 7+ years experience in the CPG industry, preferably in the sales arena or a combination of sales and syndicated data experience.
Must possess solid knowledge of computers, syndicated data, space management, graphics, spreadsheets, databases and category management tools.
Demonstrate sales planning, and forecasting experience.
Must show aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.
Must have strong negotiation skills.
Must have experience in trade spending management; proven fiscal responsibility.
Well developed organizational, communication and time management skills.
