Manager Category Management in Minneapolis

Position Description:

This position, based in Minneapolis, MN, will support a strategic analytical relationship with a leading retailer, allowing their home entertainment department to maximize performance and deliver optimal assortments to the consumer. You will be responsible for forecasting sales, micro-marketing, sales analysis, consumer research, and planogram revisions. With these responsibilities you will help drive the desired growth laid out by the buying and category management teams. Excellent communication, prioritization and analytical skills are also essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a specific portion of the Home Entertainment category with 300+ items
- Work with retailer & syndicated POS as well as Consumer data
- Develop and drive strategic initiatives that support category growth
- Work with all levels of buying and replenishment teams to achieve category objectives
- Provide forecasting leadership on New Releases and Promotions
- Manage planogram revisions and quarterly resets for areas of responsibility
- Deliver accurate and meaningful scheduled reporting and ad hoc analysis to buyers
- Direct category management research group on research specific to growing the category and answering business related questions
- Provide actionable recommendations to address business needs and/or competitive positions within the marketplace
- Attend industry specific conferences and symposiums to keep current on industry trends


Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Business or Analytical related field (Master?s Degree a plus)
- 2+ years experience with category management of consumer products
- Understanding of syndicated data from sources such as ACNielsen and/or NPD
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid organization and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
