Southern California Aviation, LLC (SCA) is a commercial aircraft "transitional facility".  The company is an FAA 145 and EASA licensed facility that provides parking, storage, line maintenance, and limited "C" level checks and airframe modification.  It is location at Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA), the former George Air Force Base, in Victorville, California.  The location is ideally suited for storage, maintenance and other transitional services.  The company continues to expand its maintenance capability and physical facilities, included dedicated hard surface parking and wide body hangar facilities.  SCA is owned 51% by Aviation Assurance Company, LLC (AAC) and 49% by Pratt & Whitney (PW), a United Technologies company.

 

Overview:

 

The position of Manager of Sales and Marketing (MSM) is a senior level management position primarily responsible for developing and implementing a marketing strategy that will achieve the operation and financial objectives of SCA.  The MSM's performance is measured by the development and timely achievement of these objectives.  The MSM reports directly to the Vice President/General Manager of SCA and is a member of the executive committee.

 

Duties & Responsibilites:

 

The MSM is primarily responsible for working with the Vice President, CEO and other members of the executive committee to develop, document and implement a marketing strategy that will achieve the strategic, operating and financial objectives of the company.  The strategy will include objectives for each service category to specific target regions and customers.  It will clearly define expense and revenue forecasts, and will lay out recommended conferences and promotional activity, including brochures and advertisements.  The MSM will report weekly on the status of achieving the agreed upon objectives in a company sales and marketing meeting, but also in a coordinating meeting with the marketing group at PW.  There must be a willingness to travel frequently, an ability to develop strong customer relationships, and to be absolutely accountable for the results achieved.  The MSM must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as a team player.

 

Qualifications:

 

A candidate should have the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree, perferably in marketing, but also have worked in the aviation industry for at least five years and have strong industry relationships, including at aviation leasing companies.  Existing membership in and extensive relationships with the members of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders (ISTAT) is very helpful.  Further, a strong technical background with commerical aircraft is helpful, but not required.  Must have excellent planning and presentation skills, a professional appearance and good computer skills.
