Job Summary: The Manager or Director of Supply Chain Solutions is a sales position that develops new business within the assigned local market. Value is created through the thoughtful and proactive application of logistics solutions across the Kuehne + Nagel (KN) suite of services. This position is primarily focused on NAFTA Contract Logistics (domestic warehousing and transportation solutions).
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Meet and exceed new business revenue goals
? Build strategic relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for KN to create value
? Marshall the resources within KN required to capitalize on value creation opportunities. Work closely with this team to develop creative solutions to customer needs
? Cross sell Kuehne + Nagel suite of services in a team environment
? Organize regular meetings with the client and relevant operations staff to report on 5-ups performance and receive an update from client on challenges and future plans
? Direct operational issues to the correct operational owner
? Develop and implement account plans for major accounts
? Orchestrate INCITE sessions
? Identify issues before they become problems through close contact with customer
? Assure KN and customer expectations are in alignment
? Drive proactive suggestions for continuous and discontinuous improvement
? Act as the catalyst for operational audits
? Measure and communicate the value of KN?s solution
? Maintain close communication with customer and KN?s operations team to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs and results
Qualifications:
? Minimum 3 years in outside sales - logistics services/transportation/warehousing background, with proven quantifiable performance
? Understanding of warehousing and transportation concepts and pricing
? Solid understanding of the theory and practice of supply chain management, warehousing and/or transportation management in particular
? Must be familiar with local market(s)
? Ability to provide clear direction to operations support staff to gather necessary data and implement the right solution
? Project management skills
? Ability to develop presentations (PPT) for delivery to logistics executives
? Excellent communication and organizational skills
? Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
? Ability to travel (50%)
