The Deloitte Business Intelligence?group is initiating a recruiting process for a Market Intelligence (MI) Manager to support the Consumer Business industry practice.? Preferred location is Cincinnati or Chicago, but other major US cities will also be considered.
?
The Market Intelligence Manager will play a key role in the firm's understanding of consumer business companies by designing and developing market intelligence presentations and deliverables that facilitate business development and operational planning for the managing partners of the Consumer Business industry practice.?
?
Deliverables will include prospect profiles and market studies that integrate information from primary and secondary sources, client service professionals, and sales and marketing managers.? Presentations and deliverables are designed to provide partners and
business development professionals a competitive edge in developing proposals, attaining new business, retaining and expanding current services, and making organizational/business decisions.
?
This position will play a critical role in the development, presentation, and implementation of cohesive analyses of markets, prospects, and competitors.? The Market Intelligence Manager interacts with all levels of the Consumer Business practice and Business Development organization to ensure the creation of accurate, effective and quality presentations.? This position will require occasional travel to attend offsite meetings and/or training sessions with both internal and external groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct research on consumer business topics and issues, and translate industry trends and challenges into opportunities and threats for the firm;??
- Prepare written and oral presentations on consumer business prospects, markets, and competitor activities for key
client service practitioners and business development professionals to support their efforts to win business;?
- Attend industry meetings and conferences to elicit information about issues and opportunities facing consumer business entities, including companies operating in the retail, consumer package goods, wholesale, distribution, services, tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors, and to develop and nurture an external network of contacts to support marketplace analysis??
- Identify internal and external information sources, build effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm and the external marketplace, and conduct effective interviews.???
- Identify research requirements for the Consumer Business practice and integrate vendor-provided elements, third-party interviews, and publicly available information in research projects.? This involves conceptualizing contract work that supports projects; ensuring deliverables and qualitative measures are
clearly established with vendor, monitoring vendor performance, and taking corrective actions to ensure that reports are delivered on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Consumer Business market research, competitive intelligence, or strategic planning;
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of work experience demonstrating superior writing, analytical and presentation skills - preferably in the Consumer Business industry (e.g. consumer packaged goods, apparel, jewelry)
- A minimum of at least 3 to 5 years of experience in organizational and marketplace analysis focused on Consumer Business markets
- MBA required (may consider relevant financial analysis and planning experience?in lieu of?MBA degree)
- Must have a strong network of contacts and knowledge in the Consumer Business market
- Expert project management abilities?
- Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based programs??
