Position Description:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving annual sales and profit objectives for a defined territory, by influencing customers (e.g., key orthopedic surgeons, critical care facilities, emergency rooms, cardiologists, and physicians based in hospitals and teaching institutions) through education on assigned products (Lovenox & Plavix). Cardiovascular Specialists call primarily on major hospitals and teaching institutions within the assigned geography and appropriate office-based physicians, long-term care facilities, and other sub-acute institutions. An effective territory business plan will need to be developed and implemented, utilizing effective selling techniques and marketing strategies to create and expand product demand.

Qualifications:

Education/Training Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree with a focus in business or life science preferred.
? Minimum three years of Pharmaceutical Sales Experience or two years of relevant specialty experience as an RN, PharmD, or Physical Therapist (Clinical Research Associate does not qualify). Examples of ?relevant specialty experience? are: a Registered Nurse with a four year degree and two years experience in the specialty of the sales team, OR a PharmD with two years experience as a pharmacist, OR a Physical Therapist with a Masters Degree and two years of experience working with patients in one of the following areas: cardiac, orthopedic, oncology, osteoporosis or arthritis. Specialty Sales experience preferred.
? Candidates should be able to acquire, apply and articulate comprehensive knowledge of the Disease State and science of Sanofi Aventis products.
? A proven sales track record and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is required.
