Mortgage Loan Consultants are responsible for proactively developing and maintaining a network of Realtors and other quality sources of business in designated territories in order to originate quality, one-to-four-family residential mortgage loans in accordance with Washington Mutual policies and procedures. Loan Consultants solicit new business to meet established loan quality and volume goals; participate in business related development activities to contribute to community effort and promote home ownership. The Loan Consultant is also required to take complete loan applications, obtains all necessary documents and signatures and delivers the complete loan package to regional processing in a timely manner. In addition, Consultants insure customer satisfaction by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and by maintaining consistent and thorough communication with all involved parties throughout the loan process.



Demonstrated sales ability and experience marketing products to the real estate community.
Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and tact in communicating with customers and describing various Bank products and/or FHA/VA loans.
2 years experience in originating conventional single and multi-family residential loans.
Knowledge of government regulations and secondary market standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently.
Self-motivated, high energy and excellent organizational and follow-up skills a must.
Prefer thorough knowledge of lending regulations, conventional and/or government loan requirements and general finance.
Must have an established base of local referral/business sources.
