Neuro-Oncology Sales Specialist

The NOSS is responsible for meeting sales objectives for the GliaSite product in a specific geographical territory. To achieve success, the NOSS must educate and introduce a new standard of care for brain cancer radiation treatment of patients post resection or post craniotomy.
Responsibilities:
Achieve sales forecast objectives for GliaSite product.
Provide education regarding clinical data and outcomes to Neuro Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, and Physicists. Effectively manage this multiple call-point sale in a consultative manner.
Troubleshoot during surgical cases to facilitate successful surgical outcomes. Plan and execute an interactive strategic and tactical territory Sales Plan.
Build rapport, and give presentations to physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, payers, insurers, health-care providers, and others necessary to achieve territory sales goals.
Develop relationships with key opinion leaders in the medical field to influence establishment of GliaSite as a treatment option.
Create and/or implement custom field promotional programs for targeted regional customers and decision makers.
Manage time effectively; prioritizing and making good business judgments in relationship to efficiency, effectiveness and ROI.
Provide ongoing customer service and support. Provide classroom or field training to new hires as needed.
Submit timely purchase orders, sales planning and expense reports. Report customer product inquiries and service requests within 24 hours of receipt. Authorize return goods in accordance with approved policy.
Maintain up-to-date computerized account information, hospital lists, and customer files, and compile electronically to corporate office as needed.
Establish and control territory operating budget.
Provide feedback and submit reports as needed on product performance, competition, products, marketing practices and customer satisfaction.
Attend all corporate training, sales meetings, conventions, and in-field development courses.
Adhere to all corporate policies, procedures, instructions and directives to achieve objectives and maximize profitability.
Protect all company assets.
Extensive overnight travel to regional accounts and medical conventions.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated successful surgical sales performance with documented success (percent to quota, percentage growth year over year, ranking among peers, awards).
Proven ability to manage a multiple call-point sale. Operating Room experience and a demonstrated ability to work with surgeons. Proven experience introducing new technology and developing the market for the technology.
Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and use extensive and complex clinical data as a key factor in the sales process.
Ability to sell in a consultative manner such that the customer need is discovered and addressed in an individualized clinical and data-driven manner.
Familiarity with reimbursement, and managed care policies and procedures.
Experience in developing and establishing professional education training courses for surgeons and nursing staff.
Must possess the maturity, confidence and technical skill to educate the Physicians, challenge where appropriate, and successfully navigate the inherent politics.
Must be able to manage a conceptual sell against an established standard of care, and change paradigms in the process.
Must possess high tolerance for the ambiguity inherent in a start-up technology environment.
Expertise in Microsoft Windows and Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, and other popular business software desirable.
