Outside Customer Service Representative

Rocky Top Building Products, Inc., a Virginia corporation, currently has an opening for an Outside Customer Service Representative. The company was established in 1977 as Rocky Top Wood Preservers, a pressure treated lumber business in Rocky Mount, VA with two employees.  In recent years, Rocky Top has leveraged its experience in the treated lumber industry to become a building products distributor.  In addition to treated lumber, Rocky Top now offers its customers wood composites, plastic lumber, and engineered wood product lines which are each experiencing rapid growth. 

 





Position located in the Eastern Pennsylvania, Allentown/ Harrisburg/ Lehigh Valley areas.

 

The responsibilities of this job include providing effective customer service to assigned customers, ensuring customer product knowledge, and maintaining strong customer relations, by performing the following duties:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

? Trains customer sales staff on products and special projects such as deck building.

? Ensures appropriate customer inventory levels.

? Inspects all inventory displays to ensure they are presentable for customers.

? Builds displays to promote business.

? Inspects lumber in response to customer complaints to make recommendations to management regarding resolution.

? Interacts with customers to promote positive customer relations.

? Assists customers with installations.

? Performs other duties or projects as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

? Education/Experience: High School degree plus 1-3 years of building and customer service experience.

? Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows and Excel.
