The basic function of Outside Sales is to skillfully and assertively market the service, product, and support offerings of American Light to the entire assigned sales territory. These sales efforts will include, but not be limited to, electrical and lighting supply products, lighting maintenance services, and electrical contracting services. 

 

Outside Sales -
?Responsible for skillful and aggressive marketing of the American Light product offering and the Alliance to the assigned territory
?Responsible for a working knowledge of the American Light inventory, as well as an awareness of the inventory of local competitors
?Responsible for acquiring expert product knowledge through self study and company provided training in lighting and electrical products, design criteria, proper use of products offered, and any related code requirements
?Responsible for passing company product knowledge tests by a score of seventy five percent or higher
?Responsible for introducing and demonstrating new products to customers and prospects
?Responsible for organizing all necessary information to properly document daily activities, sales performance, project statuses, active sales targets, and competitive activity
?Responsible for regular market analysis of the assigned territory
?Responsible for participating in local industry associations which serve the assigned customer group, and attending any specified industry trade shows
?Responsible for commanding a complete working knowledge of all assigned and potential accounts - specifically in reference to their product and service potential, their current product and service needs, their organizational structure and financial condition
?Responsible for immediately communicating any perceived customer financial weakness to corporate customer service
?Responsible for assisting customer service in any receivable disputes
?Responsible for keeping customers informed of all relevant company policies and procedures
?Responsible for recognizing special pricing situations and providing competitive quotations
?Responsible for following up on quotations in an effort to write an order, or receive feedback to use in future quotations.
?Responsible for interacting with the inside sales group, the branch manager and purchasing to exchange customer needs information
?Responsible for maintaining a well-groomed appearance
?Responsible for providing assistance to any other department of American Light as may be required to support any customer or fellow employee
?Responsible for strictly following and promoting the company constitution
