HGH Hardware Supply, a major wholesale distributor of cabinet and woodworking supplies is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious candidate who is goal-oriented and aggressive for an Outside Sales Representative position. This Salesperson will be responsible for a territory of NorthWest  Alabama, NorthEast Mississippi and West Tennessee, including Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Fayette, Jasper, Decatur, and Florence, AL;  Corinth and Booneville, MS and Martin, TN.Someone based in the Birmingham area is preferred. Some overnight travel may be required.  This position requires someone who is willing to work hard to achieve success and derives great satisfaction from providing outstanding service to the customer.

 

The ideal candidate will have very good interpersonal skills, both as a communicator and a listener.  Personable and friendly, this person must exhibit a professional appearance, maintain positive behavior and be able to handle any situation with tact and diplomacy.  Self-confident and mature, this person will be able to articulate well and use logical reasoning to execute Sales and Marketing plans.  Of the highest integrity, this person must be able to accept responsibility and work well with minimal supervision. 

 

The successful candidate will receive training to gain knowledge of customers, products and company policies and procedures in preparation for placement in the sales territory.  Compensation will consist of a salary base with quarterly bonus and commissions.  A company vehicle with fuel and maintenance cards is furnished with all business-related expenses reimbursed monthly.  Company benefits include vacation, holidays, health and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, flexible benefit plan and 401k with company match. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:Prospect new customersResearch competitionMake Sales Calls to introduce and sell productsImplement Sales promotions/Sales & Marketing plansNegotiate pricingAssist in the installation of newly purchased machineryConsistently meet/exceed established performance objectivesMaintain reportingWork closely with vendor representativesMaintain company vehicleMaintain acceptable driver?s license and driving recordAttend product training sessionsAttend industry shows/exhibitsParticipate in Quarterly reviews

 

Requirements for the position include:

1.  2 years college

2.  Computer skills in Basic Windows/Email/Internet Access

3.  Valid Driver?s license

4.  Acceptable driving record

5.  Acceptable credit history

6.  Willingness to travel within territory (some overnight travel)

 

Preferred/desired qualifications include:

1.  Associates degree in Business or Marketing

2.  4 years college

3.  3 or more years Outside Sales experience

4.  Experience in cabinet/woodworking industry

5.  Experience in wholesale distribution or use of distribution software
