General Description Sells products to businesses or individuals at store, showroom, job sites, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Job Functions include the following, other activates may be assigned:

 

? Proactively acquire new business, continually satisfy needs of existing clientele, and build lasting relationships with contractors, developers, and other target customers.

 

? Coordinate activities with other partners in order to make sure that the best possible customer service is offered and the maximum amount of product is sold.

 

Job Duties must perform the following duties in order to achieve essential job functions, other duties may be assigned:

 

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

 

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.

 

Visits job sites to keep contractors supplied with materials in a timely manner, or to inform contractors of any delays or problems.

 

Act as ?middle man? to coordinate a building project with a home owner and a contractor

 

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

 

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

 

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

 

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

 

Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

 

Tracks stock levels.

 

Coordinates customer training.

 

Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

 

Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

 

Attends trade shows.

Education and/or Experience  

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
