Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares and implements annual business plans for one or more product lines in order to maximize long-term selective growth and return on investment for the division. Designs the sales and marketing direction for assigned products, and assists others in the sales force in achieving business plans. The incumbent focuses on a product lines that services the electronics (HDD) markets, learning customer needs and requirements, product application, product technology, and product design.

Personnel: Direct Responsibility 1- 3 Exempt
Duties:
1. Provide the direct sales, marketing and technical direction and leadership to achieve sales and profit goals for assigned products in the assigned markets; develop and implement annual marketing and business plans involving strategies, tactics and pricing policies that will best serve the business needs. This position is directly accountable for key business sales accounts.

2. Guide and coordinate efforts of technical business team and provide primary technical interaction with internal groups to insure timely implementation of programs to reach desired business goals.


3. Provide sales forecasts and market information based on technical resources and expertise for current and future oriented markets and applications of assigned products.

4. Identify new sales and expanding markets for company products.

5. Identify and lead the sales, marketing and technical support effort to design and develop product line extensions or significant, near term new market opportunities, and exploit any new product technology when ready for commercialization.

COMPETENCIES:
The incumbent must have three to five years? experience in Product/Market Management, and strong technical knowledge of manufacturing or Sales/Marketing Management for assigned products. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively on a broad range of disciplines, with a wide range of personnel, from shop floor to technical personnel, in order to develop viable approaches to the various applications. A BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 4 to 8 years experience in Product Development, manufacturing or process engineering is a plus. Actual ?hands-on? proficiency in lapping and polishing, including machines, consumables and practices is also a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills are required along with very strong computer skills.

Required experience would include good knowledge of grinding, lapping & polishing processes using both fixed or free abrasive coolant and slurry product(s). An expertise of the manufacturing processes of the markets served is essential for this position.

The incumbent must be able to design experiments, analyze resulting (often complex) data and present it clearly and understandably. The incumbent must have the skills to work well in groups and lead complex development projects to rapid and effective conclusion.

In the field - The incumbent will test material to solve the customer?s needs, conversing on subjects such as machine types, settings, operating requests, and expected results. Reporting of the results to interested parties in house (and customers where appropriate) is required. A high level of credibility is assumed in the markets served through technical knowledge and customer relationships. The Product Manager is expected to be a recognized expert in the field.

The incumbent is expected to represent Innovative Organics & Warren Diamond (Saint-Gobain Grains & Powders) in the field and is expected to make critical decisions as needed to support the business goals. Though support will be provided wherever possible, this will often require decisions to be made without any input. All business goals are to be considered by the incumbent with these decisions
