Knowledge, Skills, and Education Desired:
Technical Master's degree, MBA a plus. Detailed knowledge of Layer 2 + 3 network resiliency protocols such as STP, VRRP and OSPF, network management technologies such as SNMP, RMON, sFlow and XML. Must have worked as a Product Manager in a company whose primary customers include enterprises purchasing networking applications or equipment, 3+ years minimum. A successful candidate will be an energetic, strategic, and ambitious individual who has tremendous appetite for innovation and a keen sense of ownership. An ideal candidate will have substantial experience in dealing with customers, networking technologies and specifically operating systems for networking equipment.



Product Manager ? "ExtremeWare" Operating System

The Product Manager for Extreme Networks' ExtremeWare product will play a key role in shaping the direction of Extreme?s network operating system solutions. You?ll combine your in-depth knowledge of networking technologies driving the capabilities of Extreme Network's switching products with a your ability of working with peers to extend the current product offering with additional capabilities to create innovative and relevant solutions.

Responsibilities:
The PM ? ExtremeWare will be capable of initiating and sustaining the following activities:

1. Using strategic insight, customer and field feedback, write market and product requirements documents.
2. Create content for product-oriented sales collateral such as datasheets, whitepapers and presentations.
3. Gather and organize competitive information, specific insightful intelligence on customer hot buttons, and data on market segmentation.
4. Create and deliver presentations to strategic customers and channel partners in the field and at Extreme?s Executive Briefing Center.
5. Provide Marketing support for alpha and beta product testing cycles.
6. Support Extreme?s service organization and maintain direct touch with strategic post-sales customers.
7. Support Extreme?s outbound marketing efforts by providing materials for product launches and maintaining relationships with financial and industry analysts.
8. Assist senior management with overall strategy, product roadmaps, positioning strategy and hitting the contracted sales numbers.
