Job Responsibilities:
We currently have a position available in our Flint, MI Field Office. This position is accountable for providing technical sales support utilizing working knowledge Square D products and the applications, features and benefits of them. Compares and differentiates Square D products and provides the information to customers while performing quote/order management activities. Creates solutions in response to customer problems using appropriate application of Square D product and knowledge of the industry and competitor products. Persists appropriately in the face of obstacles and applies technical knowledge to solve business problems and make decisions.


The individual in this position will identify from plans and engineering specifications a list of Square D equipment and suggests product substitutions which could make Square D more competitive. Manages complete job process from project take-off to financial close out. Utilizes information to analyze discrepancies and takes appropriate action to resolve them to the customer's satisfaction. May create quotations and conduct follow-ups. Understands, analyzes, documents and communicates contractual, technical, and commercial terms and conditions. Provides technical support, as necessary, for specific projects to resolve issues. Identifies and initiates change orders based on modified customer drawings, incorporating appropriate price adjustments and price re-negotiations when necessary. Resolves claims in a timely manner using appropriate claims resolution process.


This position requires a 4 year degree, preferably in engineering or equivalent experience in engineering, technical sales, or customer service, as well as 3-5 years experience. Preferred candidate will have knowledge of electrical distribution products, control products, and drives, possess a high-energy can-do attitude and have knowledge of the electrical distribution industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi task, work in a fast paced environment and have time management skills. In addition, a good working knowledge of computer operating systems, specifically Windows XP. Standard business application software experience to include: MS Office, MS Excel and MS Access.
