Publishing Sales Representative

We currently have an exceptional opening for a Sales Representative in our College Division covering the Rochester/Syracuse based territory.


Sales Representatives visit 2 and 4 year colleges and universities, interview faculty members and assist them with matching our textbook and technology products to their course requirements. Successful representatives supply Marketing and Acquisitions Departments with potential leads, and maintain positive relations with faculty members and college bookstore personnel. Minimal overnight travel is required.

The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree with evidence of top achievement in both academic and professional background. This position requires 1-4 years of successful sales or other professional work experience, as well as a keen interest in selling to the academic community. We are looking for individuals with a demonstrated record of success with outstanding sales and persuasive abilities. The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain long lasting relationships with key decision makers, have technological proficiency using a PC, and possess strong interpersonal, organization and presentation skills.  A valid driver?s license and good driving record are required.

The successful candidate can expect to earn $45-65+K the first year, based on a starting salary of $35-48K (based upon experience) plus an annual bonus that adds up to $15K per year at goal, but could be higher based upon sales performance.
