REGION MGR
The Respiratory Care Division of Tyco Healthcare seeks to hire a Regional Sales Manager (RSM). Regions are still being determined and may vary slightly from the location listed in this posting.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
The RSM develops and implements sales strategies and tactics directly through a sales team to achieve financial objectives in the assigned geographical region. This individual is responsible for sales, margin, product mix, marketing feedback and customer satisfaction relative to field sales activities.
The RBM also develops and implements sales strategies and tactics directly by personal selling skills and relationship management of key healthcare Delivery Networks in assigned geography and assigned regional distribution management.
This individual is responsible for maintaining a high performing Field Sales Team. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and terminating when necessary all sales and clinical representatives assigned to the region by utilizing performance reviews, salary planning, Mallinckrodt sales training tools and methods, individual business plans and individual career development plans.
The RBM is responsible for developing and implementing business plans for assigned networks that utilize the local account team resources available in the region. The individual is responsible for negotiating contracts and driving group purchasing contract compliance that includes products throughout the regional teams responsibility. This person must work with RBMs from other divisions and with corporate account executives as required for optimal positioning of the companys products and for optimal management of existing contracts.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university (G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher is preferred); five years medical sales and/or business management experience. Extensive previous capital equipment and disposable products field experience and/or Masters Degree (MA, MBA, MS) is highly desirable.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Strong problem solving skills. Executive sales and negotiating skills. Ability to coach and teach others.
High computer proficiency is required. This includes Word, Excel, Access for Databases, and Data Warehouse.
Comprehensive and current knowledge of U.S. Healthcare trends that can be articulated and woven into regional strategies.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as purchase agreements, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, presentations, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Drivers License.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to provide a positive role model and demonstrate professionalism based on the Norms and Credos of the company. Demonstrate positive and constructive attitude that strives for team cooperation in achieving company objectives. Demonstrates characteristics of a transformational leader in the ability to lead others through corporate and environmental change. Current knowledge and understanding of the hospital and health care environment both global and specific. Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
