RPS Sales Consultant - 1472

Job Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Regional Sales Consultant identifies potential full service and investment-only RPS prospects, evaluates their profitability, and calls on the prospects with the objective of bringing in this business. The Salesperson sells our products to small and mid-size companies (start-ups to $30mm) and investment -only offerings to plans of any size.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Conducts cold calls to prospects, responds to Requests for Proposals, leads and referrals. Makes regular follow-up calls to prospects to nurture the pipeline.

* Effectively builds rapport and develops relationships with consultants and TPAs to create leverage and a regular flow of referrals and leads.

* Travel for prospect meetings and finals. Preparation for prospect meetings/finals by working with the prospects, consultants, TPAs and RPS associates from other business units and the Sales Manager.

* Identify new ways to improve products and services. Remain current on competitors' products, and industry /market information.

* Attends training and conferences, both internal and external, as well as other internal meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* College Degree and one year of related work experience, or a minimum of 5 years related work experience
* Ability to work independently and loves autonomy
* Entrepreneurial, self-starter, a driver for results, achievement oriented
* Must demonstrate strong communication skills - be articulate in both oral and written expression.
* Flexible with travel as Salesperson will be traveling typically 2+ days/ week
* Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to relate effectively with individuals at all levels
* College degree and 2-3 years work experience preferred
* Prior working experience in the retirement services or mutual fund industry (knowledge of 401k plans a real plus) preferred
* Prior sales experience preferred
* NASD Series 7 preferred
