PLATO currently has an opening for an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Regional Vice President to oversee the K-12 Sales force in the Northeast Region including New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and other areas.

 

The Regional Vice President is responsible for developing a tactical business plan to meet or exceed the companies overall targeted revenue goal.  This person will be accountable for building a successful sales team through hiring, coaching and mentoring of assigned individuals.  Some of the xpectations that have been set forth for this position are as follows:

? Meet or exceed regionally defined territory quota and revenue expectations.Develop and apply a tactical business plan to target key customers in vertical (elementary or secondary) markets and establish a dominant PLATO Learning presence in the region.Develop a solid team of sales professionals through recruitment, hiring and training.Establish a culture within the team that encourages and motivates members to meet, and then exceed sales goals.Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.Meet with key customers, assisting and mentoring account managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.

 

The qualifications we are seeking for this position will include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required in marketing, business, or education fields. We are seeking candidates with 5-10 years successful sales management experience in education or technology. In addition, we are looking for candidates with the following:Comprehensive knowledge of eLearning products, markets, and funding sources to coach staff regarding solutions that meet the customer?s needs.Comprehensive knowledge of PLATO competition, their possible competitive advantages, and why opportunities are won or lost to coach staff regarding product positioning.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Experience managing remote virtual teams. Ability to travel extensively.
