SCA Sales Representative II
Sells Shoppers Charge Account (SCA) private label credit card programs and products to retailers with or without an existing credit card program within a designated market segment and territory to an assigned sales goal, generally to clients with high sales volume and complexity. Prospects for new business by responding to leads from independent retailer brokers, trade publication advertising, mailing lists, trade shows, other internal department referrals, existing clients and other sources. Operates independently, receiving assistance only in more difficult situations. Obtains information from prospects, determines which products and services are most appropriate, contributes to team underwriting process, prepares proposals and closes sales. Develops new solutions for unique situations as appropriate. Coordinates with account management personnel to ensure smooth transition and account start-up. Ensures that own work, as well as work of any employees supervised, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on Company intranet; policies include but are not limited to Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering policies.
Requirements:
Responsible for designated market segment generally with clients with high sales volume and complexity. Frequent travel required. 4-year degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience required. 7+ years related experience required. Excellent sales skills, including history of successfully attracting new customers. Strong knowledge of credit card industry practices, products and services including knowledge of competitors, typical contract terms and credit decision process. Analytical ability to develop understanding of customer business and financials. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes creatively with a wide variety of retail customers to mutual benefit. Personal sincerity and helpfulness with strong commitment to the value of the product. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. PC skills.
